I sell most of my kittens as pets because I am incredibly picky about the breeders I will work with. I only place breeding cats with people I know very well (who have the same breeding philosophies and practices).

Can you visit our home & cats? We are not a business and do not have business hours. This is our home. We will welcome new parents to our home and meet the parents at pick-up and/or after their first vaccination (at 8 weeks).

Finally, I required a minimum deposit of 35% of the price of the kitten to hold a kitten. This deposit is transferable to another Chemicoons' litter (kitten) if you change your mind or refundable if I am unable to provide you a kitten. It is only taken once we have kittens on the ground. Deposits are transferable to another Chemicoons litter only. A second deposit of another 35% is due when the kitten is 10 weeks. Final payment is due before or at pick-up.

Each Chemicoons Kitten:    

                                         

• Never shipped via cargo. Arrangements can be made for the kitten to either be picked up or delivered to you. 

• receives 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance (new owner must activate within 24 hours)

• is microchipped and registered with AKC Reunite (Chemicoons retains primary contact)

• has well-kitten check-ups with our vet, a health record & appropriate vaccinations

• comes from parents that have BOTH been tested clear of HCM via echocardiogram & DNA testing; therefore, all kittens are negative for the one known DNA mutation associated with HCM (MyBPC3). Additionally, all breeding cats at Chemicoons are negative for SMA via DNA testing; therefore, all kittens are as well. Copies of all test results are provided to new owners or by request of potential owners. Kittens produced at Chemicoons are also free of PK Deficiency via DNA testing of their parents.

• comes from parents who have been screened by our vet, clear for feline hip dysplasia

• is Feline Leukemia and FIV tested negative (and indicated on the veterinarian health record)

• has a health & 1-year genetic guarantee (via the signed contract)

• will be on a spay/neuter agreement (the owners spay/neuter when the kitten is 6-10 months old) & cannot ever be bred.

• has received at least one dose of Revolution or Advantage Multi as a preventative measure.

• will be ready to leave for their new homes between 12-16 weeks of age

• goes to an indoor-only home, where they will not be declawed (neither front nor back paws)

• will be placed only in approved homes where they are given a lifetime of love

• will be placed in non-smoking homes only

• must be fed a high-quality diet and receive regular vet care.

Additionally, you receive,

• TICA Registration papers (once spayed/neutered) & TICA litter registration slip at the time of purchase to show you are purchasing a purebred Maine Coon.

• contract & health documentation (of kitten and parents)

• the kitten's Pedigree

• food starter kits. I feed a variety of both grain-free and grain based foods that make up a mixture of canned, dry and even raw. I feel this is not only best for the health of each cat/kitten, but also makes the transition to their new homes easier.
