PEDIGREE & HEALTH INFO

I had been next in line to adopt her father, RW SGC Mainewalk Lancelot of Witchcraft, and between her good looks, type and being Lanci's daughter, I knew she was meant to be a Chemicoons' cat! My only concern was how she would get to the US from Austria. Thankfully, her breeder Walburga Petz offered to bring her to us & spend a week visiting the US. While she was here we were also fortunate enough to have a TICA cat show to attend where Fire earned 7 finals!

Fire has an amazing body. When judges talk about her in their finals, they always comment that she is built like a boy. In addition to her fabulous size, she has huge ears, placed well on her head, a gentle scoop to her profile and a chin that completes her beautiful head.

In addition to non-stop purring, she is also quite the character. As a young kitten, Burgi told me she was a little "devil" - but thankfully, in a good-natured way!

Fire finished the 2007-2008 show season as a 3-show Supreme Grand Champion, 8th Best All-breed kitten, 21st Best All-breed cat and 8th best longhaired cat of the Great Lakes Region. And while that was exciting, this season proved even more so - Fire ended it as the 14th Best International Longhair Cat & the Best Allbreed Cat in the TICA Great Lakes region.

Fire is currently co-owned with my friend Kim McDaniel. Kim has graciously taken Fire to shows that I can't attend and has mastered the perfect show bath for Fire. Thanks to GL Regional friends Kim and Kris for being the founders of Fire's fan club and for spoiling her so much!  And most recently, thanks to my mom who has also taken her to a show that I couldn't attend.

I've never had a cat that my region has gotten behind to support like this. Many, many thanks to Fire's Great Lakes Regional friends (Kim, Kris, Mom, Stacy, Claire, Debbie, etc.....) who are always cheering her on!

These photos were all taken by Preston Smith when she was just 6 months old.

Fire's parents and all four grandparents (and even some of her great-grandparents) have all been screened for health hearts, hips and are DNA negative for the one known  mutation associated with HCM.

Fire is a very special cat, one whom will always be with me, and I look forward to beautiful babies from her.

At her first US cat show - you can see how stressful she finds it!
She picked up 7 finals at this show alone.
