PEDIGREE & HEALTH INFO

I had been next in line to adopt her father, RW SGC Mainewalk Lancelot of Witchcraft, and between her good looks, type and being Lanci's daughter, I knew she was meant to be a Chemicoons' cat! My only concern was how she would get to the US from Austria. Thankfully, her breeder, Walburga Petz, offered to bring her to us & spend a week visiting the US. While she was here we were also fortunate enough to have a TICA cat show to attend where Fire earned 7 finals!

The above photo shows off why she has the name "Flash" Fire.

In addition to non-stop purring, she is also quite the character. As a young kitten, Burgi told me she was a little "devil" - but thankfully, in a good-natured way!

Fire finished the show season as a 3-show Supreme Grand Champion and in the top 20 All-breed kittens and cats of the Great Lakes Region!

Fire is currently co-owned with my friend Kim McDaniel. Kim has graciously taken Fire to shows that I can't attend and has mastered the perfect show bath for Fire. Thanks to GL Regional friends Kim and Kris for being the founders of Fire's fan club and for spoiling her so much!

These photos were all taken by Preston Smith when she was just 6 months old.

Fire's parents and all four grandparents (and even some of her great-grandparents) have all been screened for health hearts, hips and are DNA negative for the one known  mutation associated with HCM.

Fire was screened for HCM via board-certified cardiologists and was found to have a small accessory papillary muscle. They believe this to be insignificant, but to be sure, we're going to wait to breed her until after she can be screened again in 2009 to verify there are no changes in her heart. In the meantime, I will continue to show her!

At her first US cat show - you can see how stressful she finds it!
She picked up 7 finals at this show alone.
